ERSA Club National GS Event

This year the clubs in ERSA all agreed to offer our racers visiting them something extra with a GS event which was carried across all five races at Milton Keynes, Welwyn, Hemel, Norfolk and Ipswich. Last weekend saw the last two races, Norfolk on Saturday and Ipswich on Sunday.

There were awards for the top 5 overall males and females in the series and all the top major players were present for the two days. Jonathan Powell certainly made his intentions clear on Saturday with a storming performance in the GS which put him firmly in the driving seat ready for Sunday. Again on Sunday he made sure that he finished in style to ensure that he gained first place overall.

In the female standings on Saturday Jenny Davies took overall first place to put her in a commanding position on Sunday. Sunday though saw a change at the top when Jenny had problems coming down the course which gave her a slower time than she needed which let Annie Usher in to take first place on the day and first place overall in the series.

Top 5 positions in the female race;
1st – Annie Usher 144 points
2nd – Elise Snow 140 points
3rd – Sophie Skipper 138 points
4th – Alexandra Lillywhite 128 points
5th – Megan Coe 122points
