ERSA 2010 Champs

ERSA Champs 2010

The 2010 ERSA Champs took place on Sunday 17th October 2010 at the impressive facilities at Norfolk Snowsport Centre. the weather was perfect, not too hot and not too cold. This was the last race of the ERSA Summer League and a good turnout from racers in the region to compete for the final silverware of the season.

Two different course set by different coaches from the region. Chris Anderson and Andy Hood set the first course before Jon Reidy and Steve Saunders set the second. Both courses provided their own challenge which most racers were able to master. Looking up at the mist filled (ok sprinkler filled) course it was clear to see racers taking careful note of the course layout.

It was good to see several boys and girls taking part in the event and the girls was dominated by the Norfolk racers with Edie Wright taking overall first place, ahead of Lollipop Richardson-Brooker and Ruby Ives. In the boys Aaron Troung from the Vikings stormed ahead of Nicholas Bingham from Brentwood and Thomas Hudson from the Vikings to taking the first spot.

In the old age groups Norfolk's in the females Georgia Hood took the honours ahead of Jo Miles from Welwyn and Issy Yeung from Vikings. Over in the male race the top spots were dominated by Norfolk racers. with Shaun Blyth narrowly beating Stuart Riches for the first spot.

In the team events Norfolk again dominated this year with wins in each of the teams with the exception of the masters event, where they took a gamble but lost out to the Vikings.

Overall it was an excellent days racing and out thanks go to Norfolk for hosting the event, the parents from the various clubs who helped on the day and of course the racers for the racing.
