Kieran Norris

As you may be aware Kieran joined the Ambition ski team late and was therefore unable to take part in any of the summer training. The move to FIS will take time to develop and Kieran is  having to work very hard to develop the physical side of his Racing, to enable him to be much stronger and cope with the rutted courses found in the early stages for Junior 1 racers.

Prior to the BARSC championships Kieran took part in two Citizen Slalom races and two Citizen GS races in Bormio. Then he went to Madesimo to do a couple of National Junior GS Races.

The fields for these races were very large, but they proved to be a good learning experience. These races help Kieran to get used to the longer courses and to develop a better race strategy running into the BARSC. At the BARSC GS with a smaller field Kieran skied well in the GS particularly in the 1st run and despite a small mistake in the 2nd run produced a PB FIS points score of 144.22 and coming 5th for his year of birth.

Kieran is now back home and will be doing a lot of gym work prior to the Welsh Champs.
