Megan Jenkins

After two successful GB Children’s Alpine Ski team training camps Megan Jenkins had entered the Anglo Scottish raceMeg on podium cropped   with the intention of wiping the memories of the 2010 Anglo Scottish disappointments from the record. This she did with great success in the Children’s GS lying 2nd in her first run, but pulled an amazing run out of the bag to win the Children’s 1 GS and coming 2nd overall. While GS maybe her favourite discipline, Megs was still able to gain a second place in Children’s 1 category in slalom.

Anglo Scot GS 994After a much needed lie in the following day, she travelled with BSA to Champoluc for the BARSCS races. Rumours that conditions were not good and the possibility of further races being cancelled was not the best preparation for them! However ever ready for a challenge, Meg finished first in Children 1 GS and 2nd overall and then finished 3rd Ch1 in slalom.

She continues to train with BSA in Les Houches and is looking forward to her first race with the GB team in Andorra at the end of the month.

Andorra 2011 – Megs Jenkins

A 4.00 am start was a rude awakening for her first race with the GB team. Here began a long journey by bus to Geneva, flight to Barcelona and then another 4 hour bus journey to Andorra; who says skiing is glamorous?

Well it can be, the Europeans know how to launch their ski races with a parade of the International Teams and a bib issue with a flourish! See www.borrufa.tv (videos of the runs can also be seen here). The snow conditions looked good and the sun shone – what more could they ask for?
