The British Children's Ski Team ( www.gb.juniorski.com ) are desperately aiming to raise additional funds of at least £3000.00 by the end of December 2010 in order to support the British Children's ski team at FIS International Children's ski racing events during the 2011 winter season. A raffle is being organised by the BCST and if anyone would like to donate a prize, your help would be much appreciated.
Last year I ran a survey about the 2009 summer season and this proved very helpful. If you could spend a few minutes completing the survey that would be very helpful. Click here to complete it.
The next ERSA committee meeting will be taking place on Sunday 28th November at the Hardwick Arms. If there is anything you would like to have discussed please have a chat with one of the committee members or alternatively drop me an email at chair@ersa.co.uk.
Congratulations to Steve Lambert who was named the SSE Unsung Hero at the SSE Awards at the weekend. You all know Steve from his continued work in the region and attendance at the races throughout the season. Well done Steve and thanks for your efforts.
We are holding a fun event on Saturday 11th December over at Welwyn. Over the season we have had feedback from racers that they would like to do something over the winter season and this year we are giving this a first try.
We are still discussing the exact format but for sure there will be a dual slalom event along the lines of the tri regions so that we can make sure you get plenty of racing in.
A copy of the invite is attached at the bottom of this page.
Monday 1st November, Switzerland’s freeskiing wonder kid Elias Ambuhl will come to The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead, only 20 minutes outside London. Elias is one of the best freestyle skiers of the moment and can make double cork 1080s, right 900s and switch double flips look effortless.
On Sunday we had the ERSA AGM after the champs at Norfolk. Thank you to those who were able to attend. The minutes of the meeting will be published very shortly but I thought I would give you a quick summary of who is covering the main positions now.
I remain as chair of the region and I am very pleased with how the first year has gone. There have been a number of challenges but we have managed to overcome them and have just completed a very successful season.
The ERSA Champs were held on Sunday 17th October at Norfolk. It was a fantastic day and thanks to all those that took part and helped to run the race. The results have been published here http://www.ersa.co.uk/2010_races.
If you have any photos which can be used from the day on the ERSA website that will be very helpful. Send an email to chair@ersa.co.uk.
